[Pgcluster-general] Connecting to Load Balancer

We are having problems having applications connect through the load
balancer to the cluster DB. pgAdmin3 and psql will connect with SSL
disabled (set to disabled in pgAdmin and with the PGSSLMODE environment
variable for psql) and our pg_hba.conf has hostnossl for the subnet
where everything is connecting. 

However, we have applications that need to connect to the database
(Zabbix and it's web interface for instance) and they do not pass on
these explicit disables for SSL. These will not connect through the load
balancer.

Is this normal or do I have a misconfiguration?
