Gah.  And it does work with fresh checkouts on old and new Ubuntu 
systems, which should be similar enough to yours...  Is PQXXTR1 defined 
in your include/pqxx/config-public-compiler.h?  Any sign of the search 
for that namespace failing in your config.log?
